Epson Ecotank printer. Get the cheapest one you can. They're all the same. Quality doesn't really vary although they may advertise that it does. It has more to do with your print/photo color settings if you get nice colors. Don't be upsold to a 'nicer' model. You may want to get 'wireless' (don't have to plug into computer, but you have to figure out the app or whatever), but I just plug mine into my computer always. I have the cheapest one, an L3210, which I don't think you can buy anymore. It cost like $200 new or something. You can also buy a bigger printer to print larger pages if you want to print larger than standard size but the price is like 3x I think. ... You can refill the ink with those tubes, and it prints like 1000 pages I think (like 4000 photos since there's 4 per page at standard size). ... You can call BestBuy on the phone and pay by CC, or on their website if you prefer to figure that out. They don't seem to have these in stores, maybe because they want you to buy the scammy option which you can't refill.

This is 'photo paper for an inkjet printer'. Actually I have a picture here of the wrong thing. You don't want 4x6 paper; You want 11x8 regular size printer paper (which you can print 4 photos on each sheet and just cut them). It costs like $15 or $30 for like 50 or 100 sheets I think. You can get glossy or matte, but other options don't matter (although thickness might matter to you). It doesn't make any difference if it's Epson paper for an Epson printer. Any cheap paper is the same thing, from any brand basically. This is 'photo paper for an inkjet printer'. Actually I have a picture here of the wrong thing. This is how you (or the person offering to sell you a phone) will know if a Google Pixel is 'OEM unlocked' or not.

(You can just search on YouTube 'how to OEM unlock Pixel' to watch someone do it.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzQTOv0Kcvs&t=46s

In Settings > System > Developer Options > then click the toggle for OEM Unlocking (and then click 'enable' when a little screen pops up). (ALL Pixels will have 'OEM Unlocking' in Settings but if you click it and it will not unlock, then it is not a phone you want to buy because it is not 'OEM unlocked' ie you can't install GrapheneOS, ie it is useless.

If you watch that YouTube video above, it will show a bunch of stuff. But you yourself will just buy the phone then plug it into my computer, and I will do everything else. It's only a couple commands and it just does it.

This is a Google Pixel 3 phone.

It is made by Google (not by Samsung or Apple). The Pixel 1 got headlines for having the best camera. I've compared the new and older models and the performance benchmarks for the chips and the camera are basically the same across models. A Pixel 3 will be as good as a Pixel 7 for you. I recommend a Pixel 3 or 4, because they cost like $150 or $200 used in basically new condition on Marketplace or CL.

There are Pixel 3s, Pixel 3XL (larger size), and Pixel 3a. There's no difference from as far as you're concerned. I think one of these doesn't have a headphone jack or something, so check that if you need it. Most of my Pixels have headphone jacks.

The important thing is that it is 'OEM unlocked'. NOT 'Carrier unlocked' which just means you can use it on any carrier like Telus Virgin etc. OEM unlocked means you can install your own 'rom' and you will install GrapheneOS, which is just like the Android on a Samsung but it is de-Googled Android ie it only does what you want it to do, not whatever it wants in the background 24/7.

However, if you install apps those apps will ask for permissions and if you grant permissions those apps have permission to those things on your phone. If you install Facebook, it asks for basically no permissions to run. That's good. If you install WhatsApp it will ask for access to your contents, your mic, your camera, etc, just in order to run.

GrapheneOS has a nice thing, though, where you can have little phones inside your main phone. So you can install WhatsApp inside one of these 'containers' and WhatsApp, even if you grant it permissions to your phone data, only can access that data in that container, and can't reach outside that container to access your main phone's data or the other containers you might have. You can 'sandbox' apps this way to use more insecure apps.

I will help anyone install GrapheneOS on their phone after they buy the phone. It will come with regular Android, but we will remove that and install GrapheneOS.
